Mahendra Cave

Another of nature's dazzling wonders in Pokhara is the Mahendra Gupha. This cave is also known to be House of Bats locally and is full of limestoens.  About two-hour walk to the northside of Pokhara, will be able to reach this location. It is best to bring ones own torch to see the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the local winged residents. It is perfectly located in Batulechaur. The name Mahendra cave is declared as per the reminiscence of late king Mahenra Bir Bikram Shahdev. It is a perfect example of geographical or natural tunnel with artificial lighting system for the ease of traveling. But one should visit it with torch lite in case of accidental loadsheading. It is full of variety of stones that produce their dazzling effects as the beam of electricity strikes on them.
